The Scottish Anti Illicit Trade Group (SAITG), has a pivotal role in bringing together public and private sectors with a strategic aim of reducing the scale, impact and cost of illicit trade throughout Scotland.

This project was a branding exercise. The design concept adopts the thistle as an emblem of Scottish origins in three colours. It’s crown top and symmetric design resemble a crest, which is hoped to reflect the stakeholder relationship with both HM Government and Scottish Government.

It is shield-like in appearance to help encompass the ‘safeguarding’ theme found in the strapline. It incorporates the meshed design traits of a Celtic knot, as another cultural reference. This could also be attributed to the ‘group’ aspect of the initiative, with private and third sector stakeholders co-ordinating activity in support of better intellectual property enforcement.
